103rd PERF Meeting
The 103rd PERF Meeting will take place from 9 am to 12 pm Central U.S. time on 10 and 17 November 2021. Due to the ongoing pandemic, this will be a virtual meeting held via Microsoft Teams. The focus of these meetings will be Natural Source Zone Depletion (10 November) and Decarbonization/GHG Emissions Reduction (17 November).
Natural Source Zone Depletion: As the industry has moved towards risk-based approaches for generating targeted remediation levels, the remediation approaches for contaminated land have moved from removing every molecule (by excavation or pumping) to managing impacts in place. The evolution of understanding the capabilities of natural processes to degrade petroleum impacts has shown us that in-place management can in large part be taken care of by NSZD. These presentations will discuss how to measure and interpret NSZD rates, as well as advocacy strategies for its implementation and acceptance by regulatory agencies.
GHG Emissions Reduction:
The 2015 Paris Climate Accord’s mandate to cut global emissions has led to government climate policies being enacted to drive down allowable emission levels. These presentations will look at a few of the methods for measuring and managing emissions from different points within the supply chain.
Attending the Meeting Sessions:
There is no charge to attend the sessions. To attend either or both days, please save the attached Outlook files below (.ics) to your calendar.
